Celtic Cakes Studio: Uplifting UX using the Virtual Terminal
Brendan McGrogan established Celtic Cakes Studio in 2006 after being in the cake industry for over 44 years. They are a small family business that has strived to provide the highest quality service to all their customers. Sincere believers in the fact that the taste of the cake is every bit as important as the look, they think that cakes are a fantastic way to make an impression, whether it is for a wedding, birthday, engagement, anniversary or any other special event.
With several happy customers in their repertoire, they can individually design any kind of cake to meet your needs. They are extremely welcoming to your customisation demands to conjure up mouthwatering, sophisticated celebration cakes.
Challenge
Due to the fact that they have a large (almost 2k) following on Facebook and have established themselves on various other social media platforms, their orders are primarily either booked via social media platforms or over the telephone. They need a mode of payment that allows them to accept these orders.
Additionally, Celtic Cake Studios require an alternate payment method for cash on delivery as and when the cakes reach the customer’s doorstep.
Solution
Having chosen OmniPay’s Secure Virtual Terminal, the Celtic Cake Studio team were delighted with the results.
Apart from the in-store/mobile card machine, Celtic Cake Studio used our virtual terminal to create pay links that they shared across their social media channels and over the telephone, thereby informing their customers about an easy method using which they can start accepting payments.
Additionally, creating these payment links did away with the need for an alternate payment method for the situation in which a paying customer did not have the money at hand to pay for the cash on delivery order. In this manner, customers could complete their payments after receiving the order; they can now ensure a quality check, and the entire process is carried out with minimal contact.
